Natural burial is sometimes described as a green, woodland or natural funeral. The burial ground is managed with nature and wildlife in mind, and may be woodland, meadow or another natural landscape rather than a traditional cemetery.
We can arrange natural burials at a number of burial grounds across the North East. Each ground has its own rules about coffins, flowers, memorials and what can be brought onto the site. We check the requirements with them before arrangements are made.
The grounds we recommend are Seven Penny Meadow, near Consett, and Blue House in Wingate. Burial sites in Seaham and Durham are also available on request.

We have a range of coffins made from natural materials. Different burial grounds have different requirements. We will check that your chosen coffin is suitable before you make your choice.
